Review:I spent quite a long time researching ultrabooks before settling on this model. If I was going to spend nearly $2k on a laptop, I wanted to be doubly sure I got exactly what I needed. This laptop was clearly the best bang for the buck without compromising on build quality and specs. I played around with a few varieties of the Ghost\Stealth Pros at Fry’s. I much preferred the 1080p matte screen over the 4k gloss. I also wanted to get a feel for 15.6″ vs 17.3″ screens. I found the 15.6 had the better balance of portability and screen size. Overall, I’m really happy I went with the Pro-002 specifically.

Review:This is the first computer I’ve decided to persoinally buy in over 20 years. I’ve been using my work/corporate laptops and average laptops in the past. This one I put together through Amazon/CUK(Computer Upgrade King) after reading over alot of material and decided to pull the purchasing trigger after reading the new Intel 8th Gen, 6 Core, Coffee Lake (i7-8750H) CPU became available in early April 2018. With 32GB RAM, Nvidia GTX1060 GPU, 500GB NVMe SSD and 17.3″ display sounds impressive. I have a photography studio as well and the graphical power this machine has should keep me humming even when running and processing photos uising PhotoshopCC, Illustrator and Lightroom all at the same time. In about a year or so I will probably follow up this review and express my experience. Thanks for Reading!!

MSI GL62M Quad Core i7-7700HQ, GeForce GTX 1050 2G Graphics, 8GB DRAM DDR4, 15 Inch, Windows 10 Home 64-bitBuy From Amazon

Review:Had the laptop for around a month now. The most pleasing aspect of the laptop is the build. The laptop feels solid enough but at the same is not too bulky. I can carry it around for a day without hurting my back. The performance is great. Thanks to the ssd the laptop boots under 8s and other functions are smooth as well. Having an additional HDD certainly helps for gamers though it gives a feel that it takes forever to load games or softwares. The wireless connectivity options are working properly and provide great speeds on wifi. The most frustrating thing is the battery backup. Even with power saving mode on the laptop lasts hardly over an hour and a half. Plus the power saving mode gives the feel of working on a 4-year old netbook! Other than that the laptop has been a great revelation and as a fairly active gamer I’m quite happy with it.

The good:
*The specs are awesome [i7-7700HQ|1050 2G|8GB|128GB+1TB] for the price its a bargain.
*The OS is installed on the 128GB SSD, it makes everything to run faster, the laptop has a very good performance.
*The red backlit keyboard is great. I would like to have more color options, though.
*The 1tb HDD was imperative to me.
*The image of the screen is beautiful and colorful. I like the anti-glare screens because the areas where i usually work on the day are always so illuminated with many windows.

The bad:
*The plastic of witch it is made is thin and somewhat fragile.
*The sound of the speakers is bad… They lack of bass… i think.
*I dont like the touchpad of this laptop, i just dont get used to it… I liked the alienware 13 touchpad more…

I recommend this laptop, its a great option for work and play videogames.

10.Best Acer Nitro 5- Best Gaming Laptop 2021

This is an impressive laptop that’s worth your consideration and represents a good value for a few reasons.
This is the nicest ‘feeling’ Acer product I’ve reviewed, though I’ve reviewed two other Acer computers and an Acer monitor. This seems like a premium product. The external branding is a more muted than on a lot of ‘gaming’ laptops and this model will not look gaudy in a classroom or office environment. That’s not the case for many competitors, which look obnoxious. The red screen bezel is a muted red, more like an accent, and the only really distinction will be that sweet backlit keyboard. While you can tell this is a gaming laptop at first sight, it still looks professional.

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51-55WL Laptop comes with these high level specs: 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Processor 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.5GHz, 15.6″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen LED-backlit IPS display, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory, 256GB SSD, Acer TrueHarmony Technology Sound System, Two Built-in Stereo Speakers, Secure Digital (SD) card reader, 802.11ac WiFi featuring 2×2 MIMO technology (Dual-Band 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 port), HD Webcam (1280 x 720) supporting Super High Dynamic Range (SHDR), 1 – USB Type-C port: USB 3.1 Gen 1 (up to 5 Gbps), 1 – USB 3.0 Port (featuring Power-off Charging), 2 – USB 2.0 Ports, 1 – HDMI 2.0 Port with HDCP Support, 4-cell Li-ion Battery (3220 mAh), Up to 8.5-hours Battery Life, 5.51 lbs. | 2.5 kg (system unit only) (NH.Q2QAA.016)

“Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i5-7300HQ, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 15.6″ Full HD, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD”

Pros:
– GPU is awesome (Currently playing Ni No Kuni 2 and Overwatch with no problems)
– Heat, while there, is pretty minimal
– Easy to access extra internal SSD/HDD slot

Cons:
– Extra internal SSD/HDD slot technically works, but it will often disconnect the drive (think USB thumb drive being removed).

Key Features:

  • 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Processor (Up to 2.5 GHz)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM
  • 15.6″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen IPS display

was looking for a computer with the juice to handle my data science demands and I found it in this gaming beast. The only gaming I’m doing in is tearing up data. It’s beautiful too and the programmable lit keyboard is an awesome touch. So far it has exceeded my expectations.

So far it has been an awesome laptop. I use it for 3d work and it flies with the new processors. The 1050, although no the best card, can run substance painter very well with 2k textures, but if you want to work directly with 4k textures it will slow down.

13.Best Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop Under 1000

Dell Inspiron 15  is Very good budget gaming laptop. This DID come with 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 4GB GTX 1050 (not the Ti edition), and a 1TB hard drive. It does support up to 32GB RAM using 2 16GB sticks, and is upgradeable through a door on the bottom.

Pros:
-This laptop feels sturdy and solid. I love the red accents and the solid black main body color.
-The graphics card has handled the light gaming I’ve done with it with flying colors. So far, I’ve tested Portal 2 at maxed out settings and it’s done roughly 180-200fps. LA Noire at all maxed settings keeps a steady 30fps (it’s frame locked), Metro 2033 at maxed settings runs at roughly 45fps.
-The Intel i5 has been a solid CPU for it as well.
-The wifi uses ac and b/g/n so it makes full usage of the 5ghz channel for wireless. The speed difference is night and day. I get almost triple the download speed using ac over b/g/n.
-Battery life unplugged and surfing the internet is really good. 7-8 hours.

Cons:
-Ok, so this is my major issue and the only reason it’s not getting 5 stars. The speakers are…not great. They advertise a subwoofer, but I’m not sure what the deal with that is since the bass on this is average at best. The speakers do tend to crackle and distort at higher volumes to the point where a musician like myself gets very annoyed. I’m actually debating on buying a bluetooth speaker to use instead.

Guide To The Best Gaming Laptop Under 1000 in 2021

What Makes a Good Gaming Laptop?

You’re going to buy a PC, and it’s going to be running Windows 10. The MacBook Pro can run some games if you force the discrete graphics card to run full time. However, your battery life will suffer, and you still won’t get the performance you want. Now here’s what else to look for.

A Discrete Graphics Card

Lots of computers come with graphics capabilities built into their CPUs, but those chipsets are optimized for budget and power savings — not performance.

A laptop with no discrete graphics card will keep you from playing anything more complicated than Minesweeper.

You may get lucky with less demanding titles, but if you actually want to game on your laptop, you need a discrete card. A laptop with no discrete graphics card will keep you from playing anything more complicated than Minesweeper.

More RAM

Technically, you don’t need a lot of RAM right away, but you’ll want it eventually. If you buy a laptop with less than 16GB of RAM, make sure it’s upgradeable. Your laptop’s spec page should have your machine’s current RAM, as well as your maximum RAM.

SSD Storage

Just because you can buy a laptop with a platter drive, doesn’t mean you should. If you must, make room in your budget for an SSD replacement as soon as possible. The difference in speed is unreal.

PC Gaming Accessories

You’ll immediately want to buy a gaming mouse; even the nicest touchpads are garbage for gaming. The Logitech G series has been the gold standard for years; Razer makes well-reviewed mice, too. Depending on how hot your laptop gets, you may want a cooling pad, as well. And if you’ve sprung for a pricier laptop, you may want a second monitor for some games.

Now that you know the basics, let’s look at some specific models.

The Best Gaming Laptop for YOU

Indie Gamers Need a Budget Laptop

If you’d rather spend your money on Humble Bundles than hardware, then you don’t actually need a hardcore gaming laptop. Along the same lines, if you’re looking for a Minecraft box for the kids, you don’t need to spend the money attached to the phrase “gaming laptop.” A machine with a discrete graphics card, an SSD, and 8GB of RAM should take care of you.

If you’re looking for a Minecraft box for the kids, you don’t need to spend the money attached to the phrase ‘gaming laptop.’

That said, a cheap gaming laptop will also fit the bill. For example, Best Buy sells the Acer Nitro 5 with an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM (upgradeable to 32GB), and a 1TB platter drive (which you should upgrade to an SSD) for $700.

As far as other options go, there’s a small horde of business productivity machines and previous-gen gaming laptops available in the $700 to $1,000 range; any of these should more than take care of the average low-res gamer.

So, how do you know that the computer you buy will tick all the boxes on your checklist? Well, the answers are all in the hardware. Below are the parts to consider when buying a gaming laptop:

1, GPU for Gaming Laptop

The GPU is akin to the heart of your gaming experience on any PC. Most all-purpose and ultraportable notebooks come with integrated GPUs, which are graphics processing chipsets directly embedded onto the CPU. Integrated graphics processors have their advantages, most importantly power efficiency, but even the latest ones pale in comparison to the average dedicated GPU.

Your gaming laptop of choice should, therefore, have a dedicated graphics card. Here, you have two options: NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon. Currently, the best rigs come with NVIDIA’s 10-series cards – particularly GTX 1060, 1070 and 1080 – capable of rendering demanding games in high resolutions, framerates, and detail.

If your budget isn’t that accommodating, however, you can scale down to the GeForce 900M region or AMD’s 400M cards to get acceptable performance at tolerable price tags.

2, Casing

A laptop’s outward appearance might not mean much to some users, but to a gamer, it’s an important consideration. The design will determine how you present your newly-acquired gaming notebook to the world. When out shopping, pick out one that reflects your personality. Gamers tend to go for the bold designs, with sharp edges and striking colors, and some manufacturers even go the extra mile, to offer custom skins for added flair.

On the flip side, the most brilliantly designed laptops are also the most expensive. If you’re on a budget, therefore, it’s perhaps best not to get picky. Keep in mind that it’s what’s inside that will have the most influence on your gaming experience, and not the laptop’s appearance.

3, Gaming Laptop Display

Gaming is essentially a visual activity, which means that the screen should be among the first things you check when choosing a gaming laptop.

Regardless of the price tag, anything with less than Full-HD resolution is not worth your time. If your wallet allows it, reach for the stars and grab one with a QHD or UHD display. But remember, high resolutions typically demand top-of-the-range internal hardware. You’ll need more than just a 4K screen to play games in 4K resolution.

4, Keyboard and Mousepad

You can disregard the touchpad because you’ll very likely need to buy an external mouse for any real gaming. The keyboard, however, requires keen attention. If you can, get to the store and try it out before you buy the laptop.

Top-range rigs have keyboards that are specifically tailored for gaming, with features like mechanical-styled pressing, multi-colored backlighting, and additional programmable keys.

5. Speakers

Laptops, even the most expensive, aren’t known to offer excellent sound quality. Nonetheless, don’t keep your expectations too low. For starters, be mindful of the speakers’ position. If they’re underneath the chassis facing down, the chances are high that they won’t be loud enough, especially when the laptop is on a desk. Gaming laptops usually have speakers facing upwards.

Additionally, check the specifications and look for statements like “Powered by Dolby” or “DTS surround.”  The involvement of a reputed audio company is a good indication that the sound quality is great.

6. Connectivity

Among the strengths that give desktops an upper hand over laptops is versatile connectivity. That, however, isn’t to say that you won’t find a notebook with a comprehensive set of ports.

The gaming laptop you choose should have at least three USB ports, with at least one of them being USB 3.0. Laptops have relatively small screens, so you’ll also want a Mini DisplayPort or HDMI port to connect a larger external monitor. Moreover, a wireless card may be installed, but an Ethernet port is also needed to provide reliable and uninterrupted internet connectivity for online gaming. Other ports, like SD card slots and VGA-out, are not a necessity but they’re still pleasant to have.

7. Gaming Laptop CPU

AMD might seem like a befitting choice, but when it comes to gaming, you’re far better off with an Intel Core i-series processor. Today, the ideal gaming laptop packs at least a 6000-series quad-core Intel Core i5 CPU. But, if the laptop you’re eyeing has a high-end graphics card, you can get away with a dual-core Intel Core i3 or Core i5 chip.

However, pay extra attention to the processor’s model number and its suffix letter. Intel’s U- and Y- edition chips are designed for thin, light and power-efficient notebooks meant only for document processing and web browsing, while the M-range is native to all-purpose laptops.

For the best gaming performance, choose a laptop whose CPU model number ends with an “H” or “HQ.” The Intel Core i5 6300HQ, for example, is a high-performance 6th generation quad-core processor.

8. RAM

Because your GPU will come with VRAM, the laptop’s primary memory is one of the few things you can afford to overlook. 8GB is the minimum amount a gaming notebook should have but, if a laptop ticks all the right boxes, don’t let inadequate RAM be a deal breaker. You can easily and cheaply upgrade by buying a stick and installing it yourself.

9. Secondary Storage

Customers looking for a gaming laptop are often at a crossroad regarding secondary storage. On the one hand, there’s the choice of an optical hard disk drive (HDD), which although traditional, offers ample space for all your games. And, on the other, is new solid-state drive (SSD) technology that, despite providing less space, promises faster game startups and loading times as well as a general improvement in system performance.

So, the choice here depends on your preferences and your budget. If you’re hard-pressed for cash and wouldn’t mind waiting a few minutes for a game to load, a 1TB HDD with 7,200-rpm speed is the option for you. Otherwise, you can buy an external SSD hard drive along with your SSD-equipped rig and only use the SSD to store your favorite, frequently played titles.

The most reasonable option is, undoubtedly, a gaming laptop that has both an SSD and an HDD on board. And if money’s not a problem, go for a premium rig with a 1TB SSD.

10. Battery

Battery life may be a major concern among other laptop shoppers, but not gamers. Because of the robust and power-hungry internal components, you won’t find a gaming notebook with a more than half-decent battery. If the rig can last three hours on a single charge, take it. It’s probably the best you’ll get.

Laptops come in different shapes, forms and sizes, and for different users and tasks. Knowing what to look for is, therefore, crucial if you want the gaming laptop that will perfectly fit your requirements.
